Customers and markets have remained loyal to our company over the past 100 years because of our commitment to service, quality overall product selections and competitive pricing.
In 1885 Leprilete Sweet, A civic engineer in Providence founded L. Sweet Lumber Company located on 709 Harris Avenue in Olneyville.

After purchasing a wooden frame building from the Church of the Messiah on the other side of Olneyville, Leprilete relocated the building, built a new store front and erected the new building at its current location.

By receiving our framing lumber from the port of Providence, and furnished woods, which comes in by rail, we have the ability to remain competitive even in tight markets.
